LONG LINES

Want to safely work on “Come when called” -> you need a long line.

Want to work on confidence or play behaviors in new places SAFELY -> you need a long line.

Want to work on loose leash walking skills -> you need a long line.

The reasons to add a long line to your household are too numerous to count.

There are a LOTS of options with long lines. Not all options are worth it, some of cheap ones are too cheap and the snaps are not strong enough for the dog and will break. They make waterproof (which is usually biothane) these are awesome but usually more expensive and can be slippery to hold. ETSY has a lot of options in colors, lengths and sizes. Lupine (brand name) makes one that I love! It is a great price point and is super durable. I’ve had one that I’ve used for years, its been dragged around in mud, dirt, lakes, woods, and everything in between and still keeps on going strong. The local dog stores: Smoky Mountain Dog Bakery & The Dog House should both have options which is great to see which would work for you.

Thank you for everyone’s patience as we’ve had a few weeks full of illnesses among staff (and staff families). We greatly appreciate the understanding. We are hoping for everyone to be healthy as we ring in the New Year.

A last quick note as we now enter 2024. If your dog struggled with fireworks and loud noises last night, please use this reminder to go ahead and call your veterinarian to talk about possible medications to prevent this noise fears from getting worse. There are great medication options that can help your dog comfortably make it through an evening of fireworks without distress. Every time your dog experiences this distress it will progressively get worse without intervention. There are lots of options for supporting your dog, doing desensitization and counter conditioning and even supplements that can help. Now is a good time to make plans so that you and your dog are ready for July 4th.
